Baiyu Peng

I am a PhD student at EPFL in the Learning Algorithms and Systems Laboratory (LASA), working with Prof. Aude Billard.

My research focuses on Constraint Learning, Learning from Demonstration, Safe Reinforcement Learning and Robot Motion Planning and Control. I develop methods that learn explicit task constraints from demonstrations and use them to plan robot motions that remain feasible when goals or task conditions change. I received my Master's degree from Tsinghua University and won Master Thesis Award in Aug 2022. I received the Bachelor's Degree from Tsinghua University in June 2019 with GPA of 3.74/4.0, ranking 8/75 and once obtained the National Scholarship (Top 1%) and Outstanding Graduates of Beijing (Top 5%).

My work has appeared in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, and international conferences. I received the Student Best Paper Award (Top 1%, 5/500) at the International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems (ICCAS) and was a Finalist for the Student Best Paper Award (Top 1%, 3/220) at the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV).
